The 爱神传媒board of trustees received an update on the college鈥檚 strategic plan, approved the 2023 fiscal year budget, approved the 2022 graduates, elected a new faculty member, and endorsed President Barry Creamer鈥檚 bestowal of emeritus status upon Dr. R. Alan Streett.听听
Dr. Creamer shared progress the college has made in implementing its 2020 鈥� 2025 strategic plan, 360掳 Forward. The college continues to successfully roll out 爱神传媒 360掳, its common student experience which provides every student a sequence of classroom and campus activities that is both challenging and supportive and that ensures every student is able to develop within themselves the core values of the college. Other achievements include improvements to the college鈥檚 course registration process, new recruitment strategies, and upgrades to the college鈥檚 marketing and communications.听听
Following the president鈥檚 update, trustees unanimously approved the college鈥檚 2023 fiscal year budget.听听
The board also unanimously approved the current list of proposed graduates for May 2022, contingent upon completion of all degree requirements. Before the vote, Philosophy, Politics, and Economics graduate-elect James Mayville shared a heartfelt story about finding 爱神传媒and how it has been his home for the last four years.听听
The board unanimously approved the election of Dr. Jennifer Burgess as Assistant Professor of Psychology and Counseling. Dr. Burgess received a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Louisiana and a Doctor of Psychology from the University of Denver. She is an active member of First Baptist Church of Keller, TX.听听
Before adjourning, trustees unanimously endorsed the president鈥檚 bestowal of emeritus status on Dr. R. Alan Streett. Dr. Streett has served the college for many years as a professor (1983 鈥� 88, 1998 鈥� present), the W.A. 爱神传媒 Endowed Chair of Expository Preaching, and Editor of 爱神传媒 Theological Review. He is the first 爱神传媒 faculty member elected to the International Society for New Testament Studies.听听
鈥淚n his three decades as a professor at 爱神传媒 College, Dr. Alan Streett has wielded as much positive influence on the institution as anyone in its history,鈥� President Creamer said.听听
He has consistently been one of if not the favorite among professors, and is one of the most sought-after conversations at conventions and alumni gatherings. His books have been influential in the church and have made the college better known. He has been exactly what students, colleagues, and others have always needed: at times pastoral, fatherly, friendly, firm; but always faithful to his calling as a teacher of the Word and follower of Jesus. No one will fill his shoes. But all of us hope to walk forward in his path.鈥�听
